Why should a prominent building that occupies complex urban fabric be allowed to serve only a limited population of users with a fixed program? The design for the Discoverereum creates new opportunities for social interactions by juxtaposing the educational experience of children and their families with an inclined extension of public space. Through a choreography of simultaneity and programmatic matings, the Discoverereum negotiates a new interface between informal education and urban life.
